I have just completed a battery replacement on a machine I bought from eBay recently. It doesn’t sound like much, but it turned into a bit of a wild goose chase! The battery is a solder-to-pcb type, which I hate, so I tried to find a suitable CR2032 holder to replace it. To cut a long story short, I eventually gave up and replaced like with like. It cost £1.50 delivered from RS. (unfortunately it was sent via ParcelFarce and required a signature.. so I had to drive 2 miles to the Post Office they had left it at..)
I figure that if the original battery lasted 20 years, this one will as well..
